NDIS support in the Torres Strait Islands

Eunoia Lane provides person-centred NDIS support for people living across the Torres Strait Islands, working with participants, families and carers to plan support around individual goals, culture and everyday life. The Torres Strait sits between Cape York Peninsula and Papua New Guinea and includes island communities across five major island groups.

Support planned respectfully across island communities

The region is culturally distinct, with traditional languages including Meriam Mir and Kala Lagaw Ya, as well as Torres Strait Creole and English spoken across communities. We take time to understand each participant’s preferred way of communicating, the people important to them and local cultural considerations before discussing support options.

Island travel, visitor requirements and local arrangements can differ between communities. Planning is therefore practical and respectful: travel, timing and the details of support are discussed and confirmed in advance. If you would like help to understand your NDIS plan, coordinate supports or work towards everyday goals, our team can talk through the next steps with you.
