Our Alice Springs office sits in the Cinema Complex on Todd Street, in the middle of town. From there our team supports participants across Central Australia - in Alice itself, in the town camps, and out through the desert communities where formal disability supports have historically been thin or absent altogether.

Central Australia is not a scaled-down version of a capital city market. Distances are enormous, provider availability is patchy, and a support that works in Darwin may not be deliverable in Yuendumu. Our coordinators plan around that reality rather than against it.

What we offer in Alice Springs

Support Coordination. Practical help to implement your plan: identifying providers who actually service your area, negotiating service agreements, arranging quotes, and monitoring your plan's outcomes and spending ahead of review.

Specialist Support Coordination. For participants navigating crisis, complex health or behavioural circumstances, or a major life transition. Delivered by allied health and nursing professionals.

Occupational Therapy. Assessment and capacity-building work, including reports for plan reviews and assistive technology requests.

Where we travel

Our Alice Springs coordinators travel across the MacDonnell, Central Desert and Barkly regions — including Hermannsburg, Papunya, Yuendumu, Santa Teresa, Tennant Creek and communities further out. Where a service simply doesn't exist in a region, we work with providers to help bring it in. Growing the market in remote Central Australia is deliberate work for us, not a by-product.

Working respectfully in Central Australia

Most of the participants we support in this region are Aboriginal. That shapes how we work: we take the time to build relationships before we build plans, we work through family and community structures rather than around them, and we use interpreters as a matter of course rather than as a fallback. Our team's cultural training is ongoing, and we're honest with ourselves about how much of it is still learning.

Common questions

Do you visit remote communities, or do I need to come to Alice?

We travel. Community visits are a standard part of how our Alice Springs team works — tell us where you are and we'll talk through the schedule.

What if there's no provider for the support I need?

This comes up often out here. Part of a coordinator's job is sourcing and encouraging providers to service areas they don't currently reach. We can't promise it always works, but we do the work.

Can you help me before my plan review?

Yes. We report on plan outcomes and expenditure and help re-develop your goals ahead of review.
